In most cases, it’s the same story and the same answer – no.
This brings me back to the simple challenge – are we properly training employees and
are we being properly supported with our InfoSec budgets? The answer is usually no.
It’s time, now, to push for better training, more consistent updates, patches, backups
and the latest InfoSec tools we can find to help us in our process – to prove best
practices for due care and due diligence.
We need to go to our “C” level executives, show them the recent breaches and explain
that yes, it could happen to us, if you don’t give us your full support. We need to reduce
risk and we need executive level support to do it – both verbally, in writing and in
funding.
We need these executives to stop calling InfoSec an expensive proposition and show
them how a breach is even worse – just look at the CEO of Equifax who was forced to
resign after the recent breach. It finally rolls uphill to the “C” levels. Let’s remind them.
In addition, please join with us as we continue to share a wealth of information with
each other to stay one step ahead of the next cyber threat. We have some amazing
writers covering incredibly important and timely topics this month, so please, read on
and enjoy! It’s always free so tell your friends to subscribe. Spread the word, with
thanks.
