Make Customer Service a Top Priority

With companies getting bigger all the time due to mergers and other forms of expansion,
customer service often falls by the wayside. However, for companies that take a closer look at
Tesla, they may find themselves rethinking their approach to customer service. Tesla has built
its reputation on delivering outstanding customer service, allowing it to quickly gain a good
reputation with consumers. For example, the company makes house calls by sending a service
van to a customer's home when performing follow-up service on its cars. This demonstrates not
only a commitment to customers, but also gives the customer peace of mind knowing their
safety and security are high on Tesla's priority list. This is in stark contrast to my local car
dealership that finally got Pro-Vigil installed to provide some type of auto dealership security, I
rarely trust a company to make me, a customer a priority, that isn’t willing to invest in itself.

Embrace and Utilize Technology

Tesla has built a reputation for excellence by utilizing technology in ways that still kept the
manufacturing process relatively simple. Robotic technology, a standard in auto manufacturing
today, has been taken to new levels of sophistication by Tesla. Instead of having robots that are
stationary on production lines, it instead uses ones that are able to move around the plant by
following magnetic strips on the floor. This one simple change to an idea shows how much of a
difference a willingness to use technology in new and exciting ways can not only lead to
development of a better product, but also one that will build customer loyalty through
satisfaction and peace of mind.

Keep it Small and Simple

What has set Tesla apart from so many traditional auto dealerships as well as other companies
has been its determination to keep the buying process simple for customers. Ignoring the usual
blueprint of expansion and large dealerships, the company has instead chosen to utilize small
boutique-style shops and online shopping to give customers a more intimate buying experience.
As today's consumers look for quality and service in their buying experience of cars or other
products, Tesla is proving to corporate America that keeping things small and simple can work
quite well.

Proving that a small company with a big idea can take on corporate giants and find success,
Tesla has built cars designed for physical security of passengers while also giving them style
and performance. With 17-inch touchscreens on the dashboard and numerous safety features
located throughout the vehicle, it's clear Tesla is ahead of many companies in numerous ways.
By taking a closer look at Tesla's business model, corporate America is bound to find many
innovative ideas that will work now and in the years ahead.
