4. Enterprises Will Move From Security that is Alert-Focused to Security that is
Intelligence-Focused

For some time, the constant avalanche of alerts have been a significant part of the
security landscape. However, alerts do not provide a clear enough picture for effective
security management. Cloud security in the future will be driven by intelligence rather
than the focus on alerts. The fact that the infrastructure's security components are more
interconnected and responsive to each other will allow for better extraction of
intelligence. It will be possible to extract real time intelligence from different enterprises
and end users in ways that are not possible today. In order to have security that is truly
based on intelligence, it will be necessary develop services based in the cloud and that
are able to access all areas of enterprise infrastructure. Along with the improved ability
to extract intelligence, new ways of visualizing data will speed up the identification of
attacks and anomalies.

The present day security industry has a focus on products but will eventually evolve into one
that is better integrated and based in the cloud. This change in focus will allow enterprises to do
a better job of managing risk and improving their security.
