Fortunately physical security is relatively cheap these days, more and more companies are
going with services such as Pro-Vigil instead of paying more money for security guard services.
This means that along with improved data security, cloud services will have to take steps to
secure their facilities physically. These services will have to take steps to ensure that
unauthorized outsiders do not gain access to customer data.

Here are some of the reasons why cloud security will be essential moving into the future:

1. The Internet Will Become the Corporate Network Perimeter
Even in recent years, the focus of enterprise security has been on defending the network
attack via a variety of different technologies. These days, security concerns center
around users who access corporate data that is stored in public applications via public
networks. The landscape going into the future is one where the area to be defended
includes devices belonging to workers as well as the infrastructure of public networks.

Cloud security provides a number of benefits including the ability to consistently enforce
security policies that are based factors such as the location from which the user is
connecting and the application that they are using. Additionally, delivering security via
the cloud allows for threats to be identified and blocked right as they occur.

2. Cloud Security Will Eliminate Threats Posed by Point Products

Point products are often difficult to integrate together, which can make it harder to spot
security threats. Cloud security will involve moving towards integration, which will
improve an organization's ability to detect threats. The compromised visibility in today's
security landscape will be greatly with by moving to APIs and integration frameworks.

3. The Security of the Network and of the Endpoint Will be Deeply Connected

In today's world and in the future, the network layer and endpoint devices will be deeply
linked. This will be necessary for combating sophisticated security threats. Network
security and endpoint security should not be isolated from each other. Cloud security
can provide the essential connection. Future security solutions will use numerous
strategies including sandboxing, heuristics and the detection of anomalies in the effort to
prevent attacks. The most effective solutions will be the ones that are able to see both
the network and the endpoint. This ability will help them to correlate activity and behavior
in order to do a more thorough job of preventing attacks.
