information security. As part of this role, he established an
associated LinkedIn group ("National Information Security
Group") which has a current membership of more than 4,500
individuals from across the globe and has been designated as a
"SuperGroup" by the LinkedIn system due to its size and level of
contribution.
Brad maintains his own TechTips site, which has been used by IT
support personnel from organizations including NATO, the
Department of Justice, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms
& Explosives, the Department of Homeland Security, the
Department of Energy, the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission,
the US Geological Survey, the US Postal Service, the National
Institute of Standards and Technology, the US National Park
Service and the Office of Naval Intelligence.
Brad combines a rare blend of security, high-end systems
architecture and application development skills with a unique
sense of humor. On top of these, he adds a strong scientific
background that he draws upon to analyze and troubleshoot
complex IT problems. As a published author, Brad frequently
contributes to other TechTips forums and gives user
group/conference presentations on topics ranging from spam and
security solutions to Internet development techniques. He has also
published numerous articles in international physics journals in
his earlier, scientific career.
Brad is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional
(CISSP), an eleven-time, Microsoft MVP in enterprise security as
well as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), a Certified
SonicWall Security Administrator and an Acronis Certified
Engineer. He earned a Ph.D. in physics from Boston College and
his BA degree from Connecticut College. He has taught classes in
Active Server Pages, JavaScript, HTML and the Theory of Relativity.
About Brad Dinerman
Brad Dinerman brings nearly 20 years to the IT, MIS and security
consulting field. He is the founder and president of Fieldbrook
Solutions LLC, which provides IT and security support services to
small and medium-sized organizations in New England. Prior to
founding Fieldbrook, Brad was the vice president of information
technology for a global IT/MIS consulting firm and has also been
the manager of MIS for a major Boston-area data center.
