These individuals may choose to simply avoid establishments that do not have a well-defined
privacy plan, to make only cash payments, to refuse to provide any personal information, or to
actively seek businesses which can prove that they have secured their customers’ data with top-
notch security systems and firewalls.

As long as there are people in need of products and services, information will be collected and
stored and hackers will want access to that information for fraudulent purposes. The number
one thing to remember, for both business owners and consumers alike, is to remain vigilant and
ensure that all safety systems and protocols are kept up-to-date.
