But, I also work in security, so I’m probably more aware than most.
The other thought that I had is when Fisher Price was creating a toy that collected children’s
information and connected to the cloud and leveraged Wi-Fi… no one thought to give the APIs a
closer look? I mean… come on guys.
That seems like a critical element of the product release check list, right?
Moral of the story for me, maybe we should make a teddy bear HawkEye G™ host sensor. Not
really. But, I do think that this is another important sign of the times.
EVERYTHING is connected. And NOTHING is safe from the nefarious hackers hiding in the
shadows.
The Internet of Things is going to continue to change the way that we live our lives, some for the
better and some… not so much.
But resistance is futile and the more that you know about the devices you’re bringing into your
home, the more secure you can be.
