attract consumers conscious of the dangers of identity theft and other consequences of a data
breach, while those who can't will lose out.
The Unisys survey indicated that biometric controls are emerging as a trust-builder for
consumers, but the authors noted that retailers and government agencies will have to build out
comprehensive, layered defenses if they want to minimize their chances of a successful attack
on their systems.
Business and government leaders will have to draft strong incident response policies and invest
in automated security tools that can keep up with the fast-paced threat environment if they want
to stay with the cybersecurity curve.
