This year the industry will see more decisions among IT and
cybersecurity teams about the ways AI-driven tools can best incorporate
human intelligence and decision making. It will promote transparency to
the ways AI provides context, showing it doesn’t just spit out answers.
This is part of the next leap for AI and machine learning, where the tools
can “reason” and perform complex “what if” scenarios that are currently
out of their grasp but easy for humans.
According to a Capgemini report titled “Reinventing Cybersecurity with
Artificial Intelligence,” sixty-nine percent of surveyed industry
respondents noted AI will be necessary to respond to future
cyberattacks. The decision makers know it’s needed to thwart threats
but integrating AI into various cybersecurity tools remains a challenge.
In 2021 and the coming years, hackers will continue to introduce
ever-improving AI and machine learning tools, and providers need to
stay a few steps ahead by doing the same, but just a little bit better.
