Social Medias are websites and applications used for social networking purposes. It is the
interaction among people who exchange ideas and informations through virtual communities
and networks. Social media has become a vital part in the modern civilization. But then these
social networking has also had drastic effects on today’s people.

Let’s look at some demerits of Social Medias.

Security Reasons

First and foremost area where the social media fail is security. Almost each and every personal
detailis shared in network sites like Facebook and Twitter. A person’s post ranges from a good
morning post, photos, status update on movie watching, listening songs and what not till dinner
and good night message. The problem arises where you post more of personal photos and
personal updates. There are chances of stealing your pictures and misusing it later. Remember
the fact that social networking is large network connections where there exist fake profiles
too.Its not easy to sift, which account is true and which is fake. So one should be very careful
while choosing friends, posting photos and also when sharing details. It just takes a fraction of
second to lose your privacy.

Cyber-bullying

Cyber bullying is an intimidation which takes place with the help of electronic technology.Unkind
text messages, emails, rumors, awkward pictures, videos, fake profiles are some examples of
Cyber bullying. Cyber bullying messages can even be posted anonymously and spread globally
within a spur of time, leaving us behind not even to trace the source.Kids and teenagers are
especially vulnerable to Cyber bullying. Victims of Cyber bullying often feel vulnerable,
powerless because the perpetratorsare everywhere following them at each and every nook and
corner. This issue has left a large number of teenagers with deep mental blemishes and teen
suicides.

Time Waster

People have become social media fiends nowadays. In a day the almost time spent in front of
these websites are infinite hours. We are waiting for each update to put comments, like pictures
or posts and eagerly waiting for the next activity. There are some beginners who jump from their
seats when they see notifications.These connection platforms give us an innate feeling that we
are not alone in this world. These social websites also paves way to social comparisons, which
is extremely danger. We are more fascinated by the life style of other people and this mind set
